Walking along the creeks preserve of Nantucket Harbor is simply spectacular. When I photographed this dory I became completely entangled in the scene, forgetting entirely about my surroundings and time.
The soft heavily-diffused sunlight of this foggy morning certainly reinforced the nickname “Grey Lady”, which Nantucket has become known for. It was only about 30 minutes before the fog lifted, and the Grey Lady retired gracefully giving way to beautiful blue skies.
Fleeting moments like these are for the early risers, though fortunately for those who like to sleep in, this photograph can adorn a special place in your home reminding you of the still, serene, and peaceful coastal mornings of seaside living.
